Challenge

The only real obstacle of this project was the abundance of self-direction. The parameters of the commission were very loose and allowed for complete creative expression. Having grown up in Oregon and having been a huge fan of the team I struggled at first with the strange feeling of freedom of choice. I had to think about what was important to me to include in the poster.

Approach

When I began this project I immediately thought about how the Trail Blazers were larger than life in Portland being the major sports team in the area. I fell in love with the idea of the players and sport eclipsing the stadium and downtown Portland. I sketched several ideas and ultimately landed on the work below.
